Harvard School of Public Health Launches a new Mindfulness Institute named after Thich Nhat Hanh

Chan School of Public Health Celebrates Opening of $25m Thich Nhat Hanh Center for Research, Approaches to Mindfulness

In the latest example of mindfulness being integrated into higher education organizations and major heatlhcare centers, the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health has recently launched the Thich Nhat Hanh Center for Research, Approaches to Mindfulness in Public Health. This center has been established with a generous $25 million gift from the Thich Nhat Hanh Foundation. It is committed to promoting research and education on the science, practice, and application of contemplative approaches to health and well-being.

The center will be led by Dr. David Eisenberg, Associate Dean for Integrative Health and Wellbeing at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. It will host an annual summer institute to train clinicians, educators, and researchers in mindfulness-based approaches to health and well-being. Additionally, the center will offer a range of research programs to explore the efficacy of mindfulness-based interventions in public health. It will also collaborate with institutions, organizations, and individuals worldwide.

The Thich Nhat Hanh Center for Research, Approaches to Mindfulness in Public Health is an important step forward in promoting research and education on the science, practice, and application of contemplative approaches to health and well-being. This center will provide invaluable resources and training for clinicians, educators, and researchers, allowing them to understand better and apply mindfulness-based interventions in public health.
